Donald ended his set with “I’ll see you for the last Gambino album…”
Last night, Childish Gambino took the stage at Randalls Island in New York for his only performance of the year. With a headlining slot at Governors Ball, the creative genius formally known as Donald Glover made sure to deliver a memorable performance. Referencing the popular “Redbone” meme before playing the seductive jam, Gambino proved to entertain the crowd with undeniable charisma atop of his most noteworthy records.
Glover is set to appear in a number of upcoming films including new editions of Star Wars and the Lion King, so it came as no surprise when he left the audience by saying “I’ll see you for the last Gambino album.” This could be a premature claim, but it looks as if Gambino’s film career is really ’bout to take off, which would surely take away from his time around music.
Watch some footage from the performance below and stay tuned for more updates in the life of Donald Glover.
