Some of my favorite times in music are when artists attempt to explore their creativity, looking to breakthrough on something new and fresh. While not every attempt is a home run, we’ve been blessed with many dope projects as a result of these actions. Looking to expand his arsenal a bit, Chicago rapper, Nuworld Kayo drops off his engaging new record, “Dreams”.
Set to the tone of some tranquil, yet infectiously effective production that includes horns, cymbals and a host of other soulful sounds, Kayo might’ve done it with this one. Taking the chorus to try his hand at hitting some ambitious vocal pitches — some of which end up shaky, but effective — Kayo ingeniously transitions right back to his strengths as a lyricist, letting off substantial bars that shouldn’t be that easy to spit so rapidly.
With this serving as the newest single for the Chicago native, his exploration as a singer, as well as the awareness to remind you of his strengths right after, showcase a smart, ascending artist. Press play on the record below and get familiar with Nuworld Kayo.
