Scott Yoder’s voice is like a mixture of every great ’90s rock frontman.

Legendary Los Angeles label Burger Records put out a new single with alt-rock artist Scott Yoder titled “Where Are They Now.” From the track’s onset the guitar is gruff and domineering, but as Yoder begins his song it quickly dies slowly and beautifully, only to recover it’s aggression. Scott Yoder’s voice is like a mixture of every great ’90s rock frontman. At times he would remind me of Kiedis for a brief moment, and then his voice would change and take me to some British lead-singer, whose name is still trapped in my brain.

This was my favorite kind of modern rock track. The guitar is powerful and at the instrumental’s forefront and Yoder’s voice is pure, but stern enough to avoid being overpowered by the guitar riff and drums. I am very impressed with this track, and Scott Yoder continues to be one of my favorite alt-rock acts. This is definitely one of my favorite rock releases in the past couple months.
