Casanova & Giggs bring us this telling new music video, directed by Mollana Burke – a stark but beautifully shot portrait of estate life in London. Estate life might sound posh if you’re not familiar with how the English use it; estates are what they call their projects. For better or worse, this video shows that even thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean, life on the edge of poverty is very much the same.
When it comes down to the core message, Casanova is speaking nothing but the truth. The new single from his upcoming album Behind These Scars reflects on trying to maintain despite life’s ups and downs. Rhyming with raw emotion over a collage of mournful horns and chopped-up snares, Casanova digs deep inside the problems that can’t be solved by fortune and fame. UK rapper Giggs blessed the song with a guest verse drawing parallels between his troubled youth in London and Casanova’s in NY. The video follows a young family in Peckham, a rough neighborhood in South London, as they try to make ends meet against all odds.
