Making his special Elevator debut is 24-year-old Queens, NY native Akinyemi’s take on hip-hop. He reveals a fully self-actualized artist focused on his craft and asserting his independence. Dark and sinister beats serve as ambient backdrops to Akinyemi’s impassioned lyrics that explore his inner psyche and the pressures of growing up as a first-generation immigrant. “Finna” comes off his forthcoming debut album Warrior’s Fate (Ep.1)” Akinyemi’s name means “fated to be a warrior” in Yoruba. From the sounds of this record, the aspiring artist seems to be living up to his name.
