AJ Bray exploded onto my radar earlier this fall with his unforgettable video for “2 Cell Phones” which still is one of the hardest visuals I have come across in the past several months, but he since has released videos for his tracks “Blade” and most recently “Juneteenth” which comes off of his Hello Beloved EP. “Juneteenth” is settled over a raucous no-melody instrumental with trunk-rattling 808s and the classic west coast bell accent that is always a great addition to any beat, and Bray absolutely eats this. His flow oozes confidence and he easily switches up deliveries throughout and I am very, very excited to see what he can do next.
