Last night, nine members of the 2017 XXL Freshman Class took the stage at the Playstation Theater in Manhattan. Despite all ten Freshmen being slated to perform at the sold-out event, Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti was a no-show and cited his mothers’s illness for the lack of appearance.
Despite some killer performances from the other rising talent, fans were rightfully enraged when they realized the 20 year-old would not be hitting the stage to perform his hit single “Magnolia”; as the packed house can be seen moshing and chanting “Fuck XXL” in the video below.
