The term “SoundCloud Rapper” has grown redundant, as nearly every popular emcee can attribute the streaming software with kickstarting their careers.

Pouya spearheaded the initial SoundCloud movement years ago alongside his Floridian comrades, and continues to be defined by the overused label. While some would say there’s a negative connotation surrounding the term, Pouya is proud to be considered a SoundCloud Rapper.

He recently visited Mass Appeal‘s Open Space following the release of his second studio album “FIVE FIVE,” and was confrtoned with a few questions about the relevant topic of so-called “SoundCloud Rappers.”

“I think it’s a compliment. Look at my fuckin’ watch! SoundCloud got me this watch,” the Miami native exclaimed. “That’s why I wear shit like this, not to brag but I got this from SoundCloud money.”

He continues saying, “SoundCloud rappers are better than mainstream rappers anyways. I’d rather listen to SoundCloud rappers all day. You know who SoundCloud rappers are? Me, $UICIDEBOY$, Lil Xan; all the dope rappers are considered SoundCloud rappers, so fuck it ya know?”
