There’s something intoxicating about the way Young Thug raps. The way his gargled, high-pitched wail of a voice cuts through a beat is so beautiful that you can’t help but rap along with him. There’s only one problem: most of the time, we have no idea what he’s saying. If you think about it, it’s a pretty amazing outcome. Young Thug has been a presence on the radio and the Billboard charts for some time now, with his latest single “Lifestyle” climbing all the way to No. 19 on the Hot 100. How many thousands—possibly millions—have rapped along without actually knowing the words? Too many.
