In January, Kodak Black was arrested on gun and drug charges stemming from a home invasion after the rapper was spotted on Instagram live with marijuana and various weapons. The South Florida native has since been locked up in a jail awaiting trial, but looks to the future as his official sentencing has been revealed.

His lawyer Bradford Cohen says the Judge and State were “professional and fair,” as they served Kodak with a 364 day sentence including an option for early release depending on his behavior in prison. He’ll recieve credit for the three months which he’s already served, meaning that Kodak could be free as early as October.

Considering he was facing up to 12 years in jail, this sentence comes as a relief to many.
